About Koh Rin

Koh Rin is large island located in the Far island cluster, 10km south of Koh Lan. Koh Rin has two smaller satellite islands called South Rock and North Rock also.

The Northern facing bay of Koh Rin is The main dive site area as it is generally protected from prevailing winds for most of the year and the water is calm and clear. The back and south West points offer protection from Northern Winds as well as offer deeper reefs and drift diving. This island is one of the best Pattaya scuba diving has to offer.

The island is referenced into 2 dive sites; Koh Rin Bay and Koh Rin South. However, North Rock and South Rock are very nearby and likely to be included in a koh Rin dive trip.

Depth range of the reef is 5–18 meters. Turtles and larger aquatic life like Sharks and sting ray are common around the reef. You will often find larger Barracuda hanging around drop offs away for the main reef line too.

The deep reef area is highlighted by many rocks and soft coral combined with a forest of whip corals growing from the rocky areas. The hard corals tend to dominate the shallower reef area around here so the soft corals are well worth descending to deeper-water for at about 18m especially at the right time when they are blooming their full colors!
