About The Hardeep Wreck
SS Suddhadib AKA The Hardeep Wreck is located in the Samae San island cluster, just East of Koh Chuang. It is a genuine War wreck from WW2. She was Hit and sank during the second world war by a passing RAF B-24 Liberator bombers.
The Northern facing side of the wreck is well protected from the prevailing currents this wreck is infamous for during most of the year. Try and plan trips when the tides are outgoing or slack if you want water that is calm and clear.
The Wreck is 70m long and divers generally explore the northern side. The Hardeep lays on its side in 29m of seawater. The “Other side” aka the hullside, feels like a giant wall dive, its not as interesting to look at as the main deck side but sure has some gems to other in ways of nudibranch and macro life.
Depth range of the wreck is 19 meters at the very top. Turtles and larger puffer fish are common around here. If you love nudibranch you could spend all day on the top and find many stunning examples. But also watch out for them Scorpion fish as they also like to sit on top and camouflage perfectly.
The deeper areas of the Hardeep wreck is highlighted by the indie hull areas. The inside of the shipwreck is very wide and spacious and soft corals and sea whip corals are growing everywhere. You can do some swim through safely as an advanced diver but wreck specialist and tech divers will get the most of the inside areas.
